A shooting at a Seattle subway station has left one person dead and two injured, police told The Seattle Times. Two suspects were being sought early Sunday, officials said. The gunfire rang out on the northbound tunnel platform of the Link light rail’s Westlake station at 9:20 p.m. local time. A witness told the paper that he saw a gunman in a dark hoodie yell, pull out a weapon and begin firing at victims at close range. The victim who was killed had died after medics tried to save him at the scene. Westlake is the city’s busiest light rail station, the paper noted, with 12,000 boardings each weekday. More bad weather is bearing down on the hurricane-ravaged Bahamas. Tropical depression Humberto strengthened Friday night into a tropical storm and was threatening some of the same islands devastated by Hurricane Dorian earlier this month. The storm was about 130 miles off the coast of Great Abaco Island, the National Hurricane Center said. The tropical storm comes as an international rescue operation is continuing in parts of the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian lashed the islands at the beginning of September. At least 50 people died in the hurricane, but officials believe the toll could climb. Some 2,500 people from the islands remain missing. Residents are scrambling to prepare for the next potential hit as the cleanup continues. “I mean, we really don’t need another hurricane. As you can see, we don’t need another one. The man who randomly knifed a Washington, DC woman to death while she was out on a run near her home last September was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday, a report said. Anthony Crawford, 24, pleaded guilty in June to stabbing 35-year-old Wendy Martinez to death while she was out on a jog near Logan Circle in the Northwest section of the city. A judge sentenced Crawford to 30 years for the killing on Friday, NBC News reported. Martinez, who had recently become engaged to be married, stumbled into a restaurant after the knifing and collapsed, police said at the time. Surveillance video from the scene shows the tech worker bleeding from the neck inside the restaurant and pleading with people for help. But that would necessitate us taking up residence in the land of unreality with Mickey Callaway. Before Friday’s series opener against the Dodgers, the Mets manager described Syndergaard as someone who “doesn’t let anything affect him,” when Callaway has been the sounding board (and at times yelling board) for Syndergaard’s stated desire to not pitch to Ramos. Callaway also continued to call Syndergaard “one of the five best pitchers pretty much on the planet,” which has only been tenable to believe the past three years when the righty has pitched to Tomas Nido or Rene Rivera. A dead man with slashes to his chest and wrists was found tied up in a Bronx apartment building on Friday evening, police said. A resident of the building on Creston Avenue near Field Place in Fordham Heights smelled the man’s body decomposing in the apartment and called police Friday, cops said. Officers found the man dead with his legs tied to his torso, police said. They also found slashes on his chest and wrists, authorities said. Police are investigating the death and the Medical Examiner is working to determine how the man died. An NYPD cop accused of drunkenly breaking into a woman’s Nashville home and hurling racial slurs at her and her family pleaded no contest to charges brought against him on Friday. Michael Reynolds, 25, who is charged with aggravated criminal trespassing and three counts of assault, entered the plea in Nashville on Friday afternoon, local reports said. Reynolds, who works as a cop in Manhattan, allegedly burst into the home of Conese Halliburton in July 2018, kicking down her door and yelling racial slurs at her and her two children. He was staying in a nearby Airbnb at the time. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 7. Local television station WTVF-TV reported that his lawyer declined to comment on behalf of Reynolds Friday.
