The wife of former New York Jet and convicted rapist Kellen Winslow Jr. has filed for divorce — about a month before the ex-NFL star’s retrial on other sexual assault charges. Janelle Winslow, who has been married to the ex-NFL tight end for 13 years and has two children with him, filed on Aug. 30 in San Diego, local outlet KGTV reported Monday. This comes after the 36-year-old former footballer in June was found guilty of the May 2018 rape of a 58-year-old homeless woman he befriended in Encinitas. Winslow was also convicted of indecent exposure and lewd conduct for incidents involving two other women. The same jury deadlocked while deliberating on eight other charges, including rape and kidnapping in connection with two other women. One of the women alleges Winslow raped her at a San Diego house party in 2003 when she was a 17-year-old high school student and he was 19 and home from college for the summer. Is there a way to help the economy without boosting the deficit or cutting interest rates to silly levels? I think there is, and it’s a way I’ve suggested many times with no result. But I’ll try again. Washington should change the rules — even if only temporarily — so that Americans can have immediate access to money in IRAs, 401(k)s and the like. Let people take money out of these old-age accounts without penalty — and maybe with a reduced ordinary tax — for certain things. Put whatever restrictions on these withdrawals that will make the experts comfortable. For instance, limit the amount that can be withdrawn. Or perhaps people can only put a down payment on a house with the money. Or a car. Or use the withdrawn money to pay for education or medical expenses. Americans would probably be more thrilled to see the trillions of dollars sitting idly in retirement accounts freed up than they would getting another small tax cut. A homeowner in Georgia turned the tables on three masked suspects early Monday morning, shooting and killing all of them when they tried to rob him on his front lawn, reports said. The melee kicked off at about 4 a.m. when the suspects — two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old — approached the man and two other people in front of his house in Conyers, a suburb of Atlanta in Rockdale County, ABC News reported. One of the suspects apparently pulled a handgun during the robbery attempt and fired several shots, according to the report. The homeowner then opened fire with his own gun and shot all three of the suspects. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene and the other two were declared dead at a local hospital, the report added. “It could be a ‘stand your ground’ type case, based on the preliminary [information] that we have learned so far,” Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett said, according to the report. Endeavor, which owns Hollywood’s biggest talent agency and mixed martial arts entertainment giant Ultimate Fighting Championship, plans to raise as much as $712 million in an initial public offering, it said Monday. The offering will value Endeavor, which also owns the Miss Universe Pageant, at about $8 billion, the company said. The entertainment company, led by Hollywood super agent Ari Emanuel and Executive Chairman Patrick Whitesell, estimates that it will offer 19.3 million shares at a price range of $30 to $32 a share, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. We already know that savers have been hurt for a decade by extra-low interest rates. But now banks are also feeling pain. As you probably heard, the Federal Reserve’s policy-making committee is meeting Tuesday and Wednesday this week. And on that last day the Fed is expected to cut interest rates by another quarter of a percentage point. President Trump won’t be elated – he wants a bigger reduction in rates. And the stock market will probably cheer but not too loudly because this rate reduction has been expected for months. Banks? They’ll cry and complain. And while you probably don’t care about forlorn bankers, this could be a major development going forward. The heads of JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo have already lamented that low interest rates are squeezing their profits. Members of the North Stanly High School squad posed for photos with the “Trump 2020: Make America Great Again” flag at an Aug. 30 game with the theme of “American — where students were encouraged to dress patriotically, the Stanly News & Press reported. One photo — depicting seven girls in red, white and blue cheer uniforms and two boys in red “MAGA” caps with the banner — circulated on social media. The owner of office sharing startup WeWork agreed late Monday to postpone its stock debut until at least October — the latest in a series of setbacks to its initial public offering plans, The Post has learned. Earlier Monday, the San Francisco company, which rents shared office space to mostly entrepreneurs, was preparing an IPO road show, to convince large investors to buy stock, for early as Tuesday, sources with direct knowledge of the situation said. China has reportedly banned pigeons from flying in the nation’s capital ahead of the Communist country’s 70th birthday celebration. Beijing’s municipal government warned of the restriction in the city’s seven major districts with a notice on Sunday that outlined how the birds and a number of other flying objects could “affect flight safety” during the Oct. 1 military parade, according to a Quartz translation. “In the restricted flying areas, pigeon and other bird owners must keep the animals in pens and prohibit them from flying,” the notice reads. “Pigeon associations must also supervise their members, clubs and public pens to comply with the rules.” The regulations are meant as a safety measure to protect military planes, peace doves, and celebration balloons that will be set off on the anniversary, the report said. According to an industry source, Rene Rivera will be the starting catcher on Wednesday, when Syndergaard is scheduled to face the Rockies in the series finale at Coors Field. Syndergaard recently voiced his displeasure to team brass about throwing to Wilson Ramos — and a preference toward Rivera or Tomas Nido behind the plate — but that didn’t prevent manager Mickey Callaway from starting Ramos in the right-hander’s last start. A troubled teenage girl from Oklahoma was accused Monday of threatening to “shoot 400 people for fun” at her former high school — and police said they found an AK-47 at her home. Alexis Wilson, 18, made the chilling statement to a coworker at a pizza shop in McAlester, Okla. and showed a second person multiple videos of her shooting her newly purchased assault rifle, the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office said, according to Fox23. Authorities said Wilson was expelled from McAlester High School over violent incidents, and had previously been suspended for being caught with a knife. She wasn’t allowed to re-enroll. Deputies on Sunday found the weapon, along with six magazines and a 12-gauge shotgun with a stock sleeve in Wilson’s room at her home. A suspected serial killer who police believe murdered at least four women in Florida since 2005 was arrested on Sunday after DNA found on his cigarette linked him to the victims. “We believe we took a serial killer off the street,” Palm Beach sheriff’s Capt. Michael Wallace declared at a Monday news conference announcing the bust of 37-year-old Robert Hayes. Hayes has so far been charged with the March 2016 strangulation of Rachel Bey, a prostitute who was found dumped on the side of the road in West Palm Beach. Her teeth and jaw had also been broken. Through ballistics and DNA evidence, investigators suspect Hayes, then a college student, also shot dead three other women in Daytona Beach over the course of three months beginning in December 2005. New York’s homeless population could be slashed by 23 percent if not for restrictive local housing regulations, a study released Monday by the Trump administration’s Council of Economic Advisers claims. “Over-regulation of local housing markets have reduced supply and raised prices, making the cost of homes out of reach for many people,” said CEA acting chairman Tom Philipson, describing the findings outlined in the 41-page report. Even basic regulations including zoning restrictions, rent controls and energy-efficiency mandates contribute to higher housing prices, which in turn freeze out some who might otherwise be able to afford a roof over their heads, the study found.
