Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Monday said President Trump was playing a “dangerous game” by using incendiary language about immigrants.
“There’s no question it’s a dangerous game,” Biden told CNN’s Anderson Cooper when addressing what he perceived as President Trump’s divisive remarks.
“There’s no question that his rhetoric has contributed to, at a minimum, of dumbing down the way in which we as a society talk about one another.
“This is about separating people, and the good and bad in his mind.”
Later on in the interview, the former vice president vowed to ban assault weapons if he’s elected president.
“The fact of the matter is [assault weapons] should be illegal. Period,” Biden said.
“The Second Amendment doesn’t say you can’t restrict the kinds of weapons people can own. You can’t buy a bazooka. You can’t have a flame-thrower.”
Biden made the pledge on the heels of two mass shootings over the weekend where the alleged shooters used semi-automatic high capacity weapons.
