California cops release graphic video of deadly stabbing spree

Graphic video released Thursday shows a crazed gang member using two large knives to slash a female office worker during a stabbing rampage in Southern California in which he allegedly killed four people.

The 54-year-old woman can be seen sitting in a small insurance office when a man in a blue hoodie comes up to her and pulls out the blades, in the horrifying footage released by Garden Grove police.

The woman can be seen throwing up her arms to shield herself as the maniac repeatedly stabs her — before eventually fleeing to crouch behind a nearby desk.

Meanwhile, the psycho appears to grab something from the office before making a run for it.

The woman, who wasn’t publicly identified, was stabbed several times, but was expected to survive.

She “was very brave,” said Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney. “She fought as best she could.”

Cops say her attacker, Zachary Castaneda, killed four people on Wednesday during a two-hour stabbing and robbery spree.

The violence appeared to be random, while the motive seemed to be “robbery, hate, homicide,” said Whitney.

When cops arrested Castaneda, 33, Wednesday outside of a convenience store in Santa Ana, he was covered in blood and had allegedly just killed a security guard and stolen his gun.

He “could have injured or killed many other people,” Garden Grove police Chief Tom DaRe said. “He remained violent with us through the night. He never told us why he did this.”

Court records show Castaneda was free on bail at the time of his rampage for a charge last month of carrying a concealed dagger.

That charge came when he was on bail for a June arrest for street gang vandalism.

His mile-long rap sheet includes prison stints for car theft, and for possession of meth for sale while armed with an assault rifle.

Review: Animated ‘Chance’ takes on dog fighting with overly earnest yet well-intended spirit

The CG animated feature “Chance” is a well-intended but heavy-handed denunciation of the barbaric blood sport of dog fighting. The title character (voiced by Will Canon) is a dreamer of a pit bull, who believes in a canine god and a peaceful place where “Hatonas” (dogs) can live idyllic lives.... from latimes.com - Los Angeles Times http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/la-et-mn-mini-chance-review-20190403-story.html>

Convicted rapist killer strikes again after getting out of jail

A convicted rapist killer who strangled a teen in 1981 and was suspected of cutting out the eyes out of an earlier victim has been arrested on a new rape charge, six years after he got out of jail. Christopher “Crazy Chris” Aniades, 62, is being held on an attempted forcible rape charge after he allegedly attacked the victim, according to the city Department of Correction. He’s being held at the Eric. M Taylor Center in Queens on first degree attempted rape, according to the city Department of Correction website. His arrest on Aug. 2 was based on a warrant issued by the state’s Division of Parole. The NYPD and the state DOC said they couldn’t provide details on Aniades’ latest offense. Aniades, who was released on Aug. 20, 2013 after spending more than 30 years in jail, became a poster boy of the violent 1980s in New York, when homicides routinely reached 2,000 a year. He was sentenced to 25-years to life for abducting, raping and killing 19-year-old Doreen Vitale on Oct. 15 198...
