Jabrill Peppers keeps coming up big

Highlights from the Giants practice on Tuesday:

Something good

Jabrill Peppers came up with a sideline interception off Kyle Lauletta, continuing his trend of being around the ball. Peppers is an animated presence on the field and puts in a full day’s work. It is imperative the Giants keep him fresh and healthy, because he will fill a huge role in the defensive package.

Something bad

Sometimes the difference between an injury and no harm done is a few inches or a second or two. Eli Manning’s deep pass for Cody Latimer fell incomplete when CB Janoris “Jackrabbit’’ Jenkins leaped with Latimer to knock the ball away. Jenkins went down awkwardly and then walked gingerly to the side. “He’s fine,’’ coach Pat Shurmur said. “Just a boo-boo.’’

Caught my eye

With overcast skies and rain in the forecast, the Giants could have played it safe and gone inside to work in their field house. But that would have prevented fans from watching the final practice of training camp open to the public. The Giants kept things outdoors, it sprinkled a bit, but the fans got to see their team for the final time this summer.

Keeping up with the Jones

It is noticeable how often Daniel Jones is called on for run-pass option plays, which utilize his strong footwork, speed and movement. He does not look to keep the ball and turn the corner, but that could become a dynamic weapon moving forward. In the seven-on-seven period, Jones expertly dropped a pass on the sideline to TE Garrett Dickerson, putting the ball in a tight window. Jones earlier was intercepted by LB Nate Stupar.

Injury report

CB Sam Beal (hamstring) continues to miss valuable time. CB DeAndre Baker (knee) sat out again, as did LB Alec Ogletree (calf). The starting right side of the offensive line, Kevin Zeitler and Mike Remmers, plus S Antoine Bethea, were given the day off for load management. RB Wayne Gallman (foot) did not practice.

Review: Animated ‘Chance’ takes on dog fighting with overly earnest yet well-intended spirit

The CG animated feature “Chance” is a well-intended but heavy-handed denunciation of the barbaric blood sport of dog fighting.
