Highlights from the Jets practice on Thursday:
Something good
In one of the final 11-on-11 team drills, quarterback Sam Darnold connected with receiver Quincy Enunwa to his left and cornerback Trumaine Johnson and safety Jamal Adams collided on the play, leaving the wide-open Enunwa to score on a 25-yard TD. Afterward, Enunwa said that was called a “mesh’’ play and it is designed to confuse the secondary with hopes of causing a collision. Adams was slow to get up, but was OK and carried on.
Something bad
Receiver Charone Peake, who is having a strong, productive camp, dropped a lollipop of a throw by rookie free-agent quarterback Luke Falk deep down the left sideline. Peake, who’s 6-foot-2, had his man beaten, leaped into the air and had the ball in both hands but failed to come down with it.
Caught my eye
Rookie No. 3-overall draft pick Quinnen Williams is showing up more regularly in practice. On Thursday, the defensive lineman stuffed running back Elijah McGuire behind the line of scrimmage. Williams was there so quickly with a read of the play that he nearly stole the handoff from McGuire.
Medical report
Cornerback Arthur Maulet suffered a groin injury in practice and was unable to finish. That was the only practice-related injury Thursday.
