‘Breaking Bad’ film ‘El Camino’ will hit big screen with secret cameo

“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” won’t tread lightly. Already set with an Oct. 11 release date on Netflix, the top-secret sequel to the Emmy-winning meth drama will also hit theaters for fans who prefer the big screen over streaming.

The forthcoming film will have a three-day run in select theaters the same day it drops on Netflix.

“El Camino” will feature 10 characters from the show, including one played by an undisclosed “key castmember” who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, used “a private jet to shuttle in and out of Albuquerque without notice.”

The two-hour film, directed by Vince Gilligan, picks up after Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) foul-mouthed protégé, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), goes on the lam in the show’s dramatic 2013 series finale. Gilligan has been famously hush-hush about the project, telling The Reporter, “I don’t want to open my Christmas presents a week and a half before Christmas.” However, he recently revealed in an interview with The Reporter that Matt L. Jones and Charles Baker will be reprising their roles as Badger and Skinny Pete — the Porthos and Athos of Pinkman’s merry band of meth-slinging musketeers.

Meanwhile, Gilligan’s “Breaking Bad” spinoff prequel, “Better Call Saul,” just wrapped shooting its fifth season, but he is optimistic that he won’t wear out his welcome. “Why did George Foreman keep coming out of retirement, you know?” he told the trade publication.

Pinkman, who first learned of the “Breaking Bad” movie last year, echoed his sentiment. “I’m like everybody else on the planet — I think Vince and the rest of the writers really nailed the landing with the ending of ‘Breaking Bad,’ and why mess with that?” he told The Reporter. “But it’s Vince we’re talking about. I would follow Vince into a fire. That’s how much I trust the man. I would do anything that he asked me to.”

“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” will debut on Netflix at 3 a.m. ET Oct. 11 and in theaters in 68 cities, before heading to AMC in early 2020.

Convicted rapist killer strikes again after getting out of jail

A convicted rapist killer who strangled a teen in 1981 and was suspected of cutting out the eyes out of an earlier victim has been arrested on a new rape charge, six years after he got out of jail. Christopher “Crazy Chris” Aniades, 62, is being held on an attempted forcible rape charge after he allegedly attacked the victim, according to the city Department of Correction.
