Couple vandalized thousand year old Native American gathering place

Cops are looking for this pair of jerks who scrawled a heart and other graffiti at a sacred Native American site — and then proudly posed for a selfie with their handiwork and posted it on Instagram, authorities said.

The man and woman believed to be in their 20s desecrated a 425 million year old rock formation known as the Council Overhang in Illinois’ Starved Rock State Park on Monday, the Journal Star reported.

“It’s disrespectful,” said Park Superintendent Kerry Novak. “If you bring your family here, you want to see a beautiful natural area. You don’t want to see this sort of thing.”

The pair apparently posted to Instagram a photo of themselves in front of their alleged graffiti, prompting an investigation by Illinois Conservation Police.

The image shows the man giving a peace sign and the woman in purple leggings and a matching tank top facing the graffiti, which included a black heart with “B+K” written inside.

It is not clear from the photo what the pair allegedly used to mark the rocks.

“They seemed pretty proud of it,” Novak said.

It’s unclear who took the photo.

The image was posted on the State Rock and Matthiessen State Parks Facebook account, and tips began pouring in, Novak said.

The since-deleted post said that: “art is beautiful but it is not meant to be carved, drawn, or painted on natural features at state and national parks.”

“Don’t be like John and Jane Doe pictured here who decided to paint on council overhang which is a 425 million year old sandstone formation at the park used for 8,000 years as a Native American gathering place,” the park said.

Any further tips called be called in to the park at (815) 667-4726.

Review: Animated ‘Chance’ takes on dog fighting with overly earnest yet well-intended spirit

The CG animated feature “Chance” is a well-intended but heavy-handed denunciation of the barbaric blood sport of dog fighting. He’s being held at the Eric. M Taylor Center in Queens on first degree attempted rape, according to the city Department of Correction website. His arrest on Aug. 2 was based on a warrant issued by the state’s Division of Parole. The NYPD and the state DOC said they couldn’t provide details on Aniades’ latest offense. He was sentenced to 25-years to life for abducting, raping and killing 19-year-old Doreen Vitale on Oct. 15 198...
