Long Island Bloods member pleads guilty to 2007 shooting

A reputed member of the Bloods gang from Long Island who goes by “Live Wire” and “Debo” has pleaded guilty to the 2007 drive-by shooting death of a 15-year-old as the boy was leaving an anti-crime rally.

Trendell Walker, 31, has copped to killing Alvin Brothers while the boy was at a “Night Out Against Crime” rally at a park in Bellport on Aug. 7, 2007.

The day prior to the slaying, assailants had assaulted and attempted to rob Walker and he had traveled to Bellport with other Bloods members to get revenge on his attackers, according to the US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn.

Walker saw Brothers standing with several other youths and opened fire on the group, according to a news release from the office.

“Today’s plea demonstrates the Department’s unwavering commitment to holding accountable gang members like defendant Walker who show complete disregard for human life,” US Attorney Richard Donoghue said in the release.

Walker initially pleaded not guilty to shooting Brothers after he was charged with doing so in 2017, Newsday reported. He had been locked up since 2016

Walker faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Review: Animated ‘Chance’ takes on dog fighting with overly earnest yet well-intended spirit

The CG animated feature “Chance” is a well-intended but heavy-handed denunciation of the barbaric blood sport of dog fighting. He’s being held at the Eric. M Taylor Center in Queens on first degree attempted rape, according to the city Department of Correction website. His arrest on Aug. 2 was based on a warrant issued by the state’s Division of Parole. The NYPD and the state DOC said they couldn’t provide details on Aniades’ latest offense. Aniades, who was released on Aug. 20, 2013 after spending more than 30 years in jail, became a poster boy of the violent 1980s in New York, when homicides routinely reached 2,000 a year. He was sentenced to 25-years to life for abducting, raping and killing 19-year-old Doreen Vitale on Oct. 15 198...
